ANNUAL ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT 2016-17 RESPECT OF THE DIRECTORATE OF PRINTING & STATIONERY NAGALAND KOHIMA
With the advent of statehood, primarily as an essential establishment of the state government – Printing & Stationery Office was immediately established in the year 1963 and assigned with assessment of various stationery requirements, its procurement and distribution to all government offices. While the technical wing of the directorate was assigned with printing of scheduled forms and formats, gazettes, statement on accounts of budget document, CAG and Audit report, official speeches and cards, calendars, secured documents relating to Election process and Legislative Assembly session and Annual Administrative Report, etc.
Achievement during 2016-2017
The earmarked provision of 100 lac under State Plan for 29016-17 has been utilized to further upgrade the printing machinery which will bring about efficiency, impacting quality and output quantity resulting in increase in revenue. While an assessed printing works worth Rs.1,03,00.000/- lacs has been executed, an amount of Rs. 32,03,240/- only has been realized as revenue during this financial year 2016-17.
Proposed activities and programs for 2017-18.
While centralized stationery procurement and management may not be practical as was in the past, with upgraded machineries and technologies the role of Printing can be enlarged by exploring tie-up with line department for Printing, publication all Govt. Advertisement notices reducing the huge expenditure incurred by the State Government.
ANNUAL ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT in respect of the DIRECTORATE OF PRINTING & STATIONERY for the YEAR 2023-2024
The Directorate of Printing & Stationery was established in the year 1963 headed by an Asstt. Superintendent with a handful of staff and became a full- fledged Directorate in the year 1984. At present the department is headed by Director as HoD. He is assisted by an Addl. Director, Jt. Director, Dy. Director and Six (6) Asstt. Directors, a Registrar and several subordinate Ministerial and Technical Staff. Moreover, the Deptt. has established two (2) Branch Offices at Mokokchung and Chümoukedima headed by Asstt. Directors.
The Department is basically a service department which caters to the Printing & Stationery requirements of the State/Central Government Departments

The department caters to distribution of stationery items to different indenting departments on payment basis through Treasury Challan which goes to the government exchequer directly as revenue. It also issues various scheduled forms/gazettes etc. free of cost to State government establishments as per their annual requirements.
The printing wing undertakes all Government printing works such as official Gazettes, Finance accounts, Appropriation of Accounts, Audit and CAG Reports, Writing Pads, Nagaland Wall Calendars etc. Apart from normal workload the department also engages in printing of VIP Speeches/ Invitation Cards, Annual Administrative Reports and Budget documents.
ACTIVITIES DURING THE FINANCIAL YEAR 2023-2024
Main activities and achievements undertaken during the Financial Year 2023-2024 were completion and inauguration of Office building of Branch Press, Chümoukedima in March 2023. The undermentioned machineries and equipments were successfully installed and are functioning in full capacity (Photographs given below) at Branch Press, Chümoukedima.

Under the earmarked provision of Rs. 2,50,00000/- (Two Crore Fifty Lakh) only and under development fund, the department has proposed to construct Flat type staff quarter at Lower Chandmari, Kohima.
